The Karachi Zoo Park is a pretty good place to bring your family, there are a lot of beautiful animals and especially the reptile house is much enjoyable. But the place is not fully maintained and the Lahore Zoo is much better than this one. Moreover MEN are not allowed on Wednesdays.

Karachi Zoo, established in year 1878, was commonly called as 'Mahatma Gandhi Garden'. In 1861, the zoo was transferred to municipality by the government. In 1878, the municipality placed the zoo under a trust to be developed out of public subscription. Later, the zoo was once again opened to public in 1881. After the independence of Pakistan in 1947, the name was changed to 'Karachi Zoological Gardens' or 'Karachi Zoo' for short. In 1953, Karachi Metropolitan Corporationintroduced a zoo curator and a qualified veterinary doctor. In 1991-2 CDGK for remodelling of Natural History Museum, which was carried out. In 1992, the Japanese Princess inaugurated the remodeled Natural History Museum. Currently, total strength of Karachi Zoo is about 240 staff members.

Karachi zoo is great place it has many kind of animals and the great thing is that the area is too big so everyone's can go and get fresh their mind. Need some sort of maintenance there government or committee should care all of these.

The place is visited more for the reason that there is no other zoological garden for the city of 20

The place is visited more for the reason that there is no other zoological garden for the city of 20 million. The garden is in one of the oldest and most polluted area of the city. In morning times, usually schools bring their students for a study cum recreational visit. The place has an amusement section as well which is much affordable but usually over crowded and filthy. Food stalls are also not recommended for eating. People visiting must only go for packed items and bottled water and beverages.

It's a good picnic point for Families & School trips. Wednesday is only for ladies. But in other week days anyone can visit. Entry fee of Zoo is only 30 Rupees per Person . There are a lot of birds, animals & snakes. children can play & enjoy there time.😊

Wow 👍🏻. Karachi Zoo "Zoological and Biological Garden, (A Family of a Jungle Book) Amazing place to see the animals and for students to learn about the characteristics, features, habitats of the animals. You can also have Train rides, fun area, ice cream, drinks /juices, cotton candy, many eatable items and many more. But some cages are empty they need to be full with better replacement and administrative sides also needs very improvements. Some parts of the zoo are clean and tidy, and some are messed and dirty which makes some unpleasant feel. Issues of cleanliness should be resolved to make it wonderful place.
