Government of Punjab is making strenuous efforts for a better and effective Health Care system .The Defining step in this direction was to recognize the importance of Health Care at Primary & Secondary Levels. As a first step towards better health care at primary and secondary level, a separate department was created. The basic mandate of Primary & Secondary Health Department is to focus on preventive health care in primary sector along with basic diagnostics and treatment facilities at secondary level. The context is to primarily lessen the load on tertiary care health facilities. DHQ Hospital Okara was established to present site in 1980 and now its strength is 260 bedded. Total area of hospital is 3800 Marlas. Because of Geographic locality on, this hospital is providing services not only to resident of Okara District but also to inhabitants of adjacent Districts as well. Enlisted below are the two Emergency Services: Medical Emergency Trauma Center Besides this hospital has 12 Departments, CT-S can, Dialysis Unit, Paeds Nursery and CCU. Providing Services like diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease, illness, injury, and other physical and mental impairments in citizens delivered by specialists in medicine, chiropractic,dentistry, nursing, pharmacy, allied healthcare professionals, and other care providers.
