Not a rushy place. Fast and co-operative staff. Tips for those travelling to the Embassy: 1) Don't take any expensive items with you such as laptops, tablets or mobile phones. These are not allowed in the embassy and are deposited at the shuttle service counter. Lighters, cigarettes and other items that are prohibited can be left at your own risk at the security guards' checkpoints that exist throughout the compounds. Just ask nicely! 2) Arrive on time! Tickets cost 500 PKR per person and you are allowed to travel on the shuttle service to the Embassy with the applicant; you just can't go inside with them - there is a dedicated, air conditioned visitor seating area inside the Embassy compound. 3) Expect to wait around 40 mins or so for the queues and to board and dismount the shuttle buses. The shuttle bus service drivers will announce each stop as they pick and drop passengers. 4) Double check all of your documentation and force documentation to be handed it. The Embassy has been known for requesting partial documents (saying things like the marriage certificate original isn't necessary!), only to ring the applicant later to request the same certificate. 5) Expect probing questions outside of the remit of the Embassy; only reply to what is necessary for the visa in question. 6) Expect to be there for at least 3 hours. Good luck!
