My recent trip to GB with Falcon Adventure club started rancidly. Ride “Coaster” provided by tour operator had highly uncomfortable seats – unsuited for 12-13 hours of continuous traveling. It was incapable of climbing to the top of Babusar and Eagle’s Nest with all passengers. 70% of the commuters had to disembark the vehicle and continue their journey to top either on foot or hitchhiking with others (Several other coasters were also plying these routes without reducing passengers on board). It also moved at a slow pace resulting in lesser time available for exploring the destinations and more time on road. Tour was marred with poor management. Complaints from travelers were reflected by Kafkaesque behavior and innuendo “we have got 100% advance payment and don’t care about your problem” response from Mr. Mudassir Iqbal (Manager Sales and HR). Tour guide “Umer Usman” was indeed accommodating and helpful throughout the jaunt. Apart from Hunza’s “Mulberry Hotel” meals & staff at all the other hotels were up to scratch. Travelers had to pay for extra paratha’s in breakfast at Hunza despite it being covered in the package. The best part of the tour was camping at Deosai; due credit for which shall go to SPACE hotel Shigar valley whose services were employed for camping, meal and BBQ arrangements there. In short Management of Falcon adventure club need to improve a lot in terms of travel arrangements and strictly hew to the commitments made to the clients.
