The memorial school was built to pay homage to the famous Japanese mountaineer Tsuneo Hasegawa who had died in 1991 while scaling up Ulter 2. Madame Masami Hasegawa, the widow of Tsuneo with her donations and efforts of local people of Karimabad were able to complete this magnificent project which is a gift to the children of Hunza. Located in Karimabad 10 minutes drive from Aliabad is a beautifully constructed building with excellent amenities required for any good school.
