Karachi Boat Club

Karachi Boat Club is secluded Club that was established during Raj and local membership permitted after 1947. It is located on Chinna Creek that flows from the Arabian Sea, continues through the West and East Wharves of Karachi Port towards Boat Basin. Club has strict Rules for members. Use of Phones and taking of Photos is forbidden. Has dining rooms as well as open air sitting along Creek. Rowing Club is housed in Club building.

Members only. But they can invite guests. Reasonable food. Good views especially in the evening.

They need to have seperate timings for swimming and a beauty parlour including play area for children. They should allow maids to have a separate place to monitor children as kids are not adults. The water is filthy and should not be cramped with wrappers all over. A REST HOUSE ARRANGEMENT WOULD DO THEM MUCH GOOD...thoughthe cats and crows are eating with the guests which is dismal. If these issues are resolved...ewith free sport rides for children..its a dream club.

Oldest and most exclusive club of Karachi City, established 1881, I am presuming it is the Oldest. Relaxing, indoor and outdoor patio setting for brunch. Quite a good variety of food, for breakfast and lunch. Very nice ambiance, delicious food and service excellent. Very curtious and helpful people making sure your visit is enjoyable and comfortable. From dinning room to bathrooms everything was was neat and clean tidy. With overlooking ocean and people rowing, made me very Nostalgic. For members only or their Guest. Must make an effort to visit if you can be guest of a member. 5 STAR rating.

One of th the last bastions of the Raj, and oozes old world charm. The menu, again, very last century, fried fish and chips, caramel custard, to name just two classics of the subcontinent. Service was all over the place, and it took 45 minutes for a crab starter to arrive. I was a guest of a member, but one can't help noticing these lapses. We left a detailed note in the complaints/suggestion book.

Like my father, I was a member for many years and even served on the Club Committee until I migrated overseas. I have great memories of this place and love it to bits. Might see it again one day, in all its glory, when I am in Karachi and if a member invites me.

One of the oldest clubs of Karachi (Sindh club is the oldest and KBC comes as second oldest) High profile, catered to the select few members & guests Top class ambiance, food and service level. Tried their seafood (prawns, green chili fish) which is highly recommended One of the few places in Karachi which still enjoy a lower level of toxic pollution (because of its proximity to the sea) Well respected, educated and reputed crowds are welcomed Sought after place where everyone wants to be a member! Went for lunch a few weeks ago and was seated outdoors, adjacent to the garden area under the wood canopy. Very calm, pleasant experience. Lovely cool breeze with a great view of the mangroves and the creek. The Japanese food I ordered was good. Not many people though, perhaps was a weekday. Good experience!
