The most famous hiking trail in Islamabad. Thus it is also the most visited one. there are multiple options of hiking for every fitness level. The best time to visit the trail is early mornings or evenings just before the sunset. It offers awesome views of sunrise and sunset. In addition to hiking, there are a couple of good rock climbing sites on the trail.

The parking is spacious and would, perhaps, accommodate more than hundred cars. A kiosk in the parking has juices, both fresh and packs, and biscuits. Trek spirals up Margalla hills at its eastern part and it over looks a beautiful portion of Islamabad. The trek's width varies, it's stoney and the ascend is not too steep. You won't find any grass on your way. Almost at the top, a sitting place with couple of benches let you view the whole capital and Rawalpindi. No rest room or water point, a hawker invariably sells water bottles besides sitting place.

A great place to do hike, This trail is much better than the trail 5. In my opinion this trail is more in flow than trail 5, trail 5 is very tough in some places and very smooth in some places.

Islamabad is one very few metropolitans of Pakistan that have nature so close to it. You can shop from an international brand and after 5 minutes of drive you can be in the arms of mother nature. After all the hustle you can have nature retreat that so easily accessible. If you have wanderlust and fascinated with mountain but you are a beginner at hiking trail 3 can be you starting point. You can build your stamina for the bigger challenges you will face in the mountains.
