Matiltan village is on the way of mahudand.. and if i say it's not looks like a place of earth but a piece of heaven. Beauty is everywhere.. if u will be there you can't believe on your eyes.. and you will say mashallah when u will see that beauty. About mahudand: Mahodand valley, which lies in the north of Kalam, is famous not only among nature lovers, and escapists but also among trout fishers. The valley can be accessed through an un-metalled road from Kalam in a 4x4 vehicle. The road is bumpy and tricky, with small hamlets scattered in the mountains.

Matiltan Swat was really amazing tourists destination with breathtaking views and very high mountains. We visited it on 28 December 2020, at that time the temperature was -10+ there in night. We hardly survived there in a hotel. In December normal transport is closed for there due to heavy snowfall, so we booked a Jeep in 3500 to Matiltan before reaching there we have visited Ushu forest that were really amazing too.

4/ 5

Matiltan is a beautiful valley and nice tourist place in Swat. The area is not developed and not feasible for private cars. Better to hire local jeeps from Kalam. Frank Llyod Wright said, “Study nature, Love nature, stay close to nature. It will never fail you”. The beauty of nature can soothe your depress soul, the sunlight, the smell of rain, the color of trees and sound of water can give you the feeling which no medicine can provide. The beauty fantasizes you in the way that you forget the problems and can think in more better and positive way. Nature provide positivity in our thoughts and behavior. Swat valley is a river valley located in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. With more than 50 lakes, mountains and green meadows, it is very popular among the tourists. Swat valley is also known as Switzerland of East. Kalam valley is located 99 kilometers away from Mingora in upper area of Swat along with Swat river in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, province of Punjab. It is under the administrative authority of district Swat. Kalam is surrounded with lush green and ice capped mountains, thick forests, meadows and mesmeric lakes which are worth seen features of this place. This is birth place of Swat river which is the confluence of these two Ushu and Gabral river. It is spacious valley of Swat, at altitude of about 2000 meters above the sea level, providing small fertile upland for farming. Shingle road leads to the Ushu and Utror valleys. Tourists can stay in Kalam and enjoy the cool breeze of Swat river. Matiltan is the spot which can visited, comes after Ushu located 11 km away from Kalam. It is famous for thick forests, huge mountains and mountain peaks. Mount Falasksar, snowcapped mountain and one other unnamed mountain can be clearly seen from Matiltan. It is accessible by non-metaled road from Kalam by a four-wheel driving vehicle. The charming Mahodand comes after crossing the Matiltan. Matiltan waterfall comes on the way to Mahodand Lake in Matiltan valley. It mesmerized the tourists for its utter beauty and people enjoyed the sudden view of a beautiful waterfall while their way to Mahodand lake. Matiltan waterfall is also known as Mighty 22 waterfall. It is one of the most visited place in Swat. On the way to Mahodand, the beauty unfolds at every turn and at every site. Pictures cannot do justice with the overwhelming beauty of Matiltan and Swat valley. The waterfall is much popular among locals. Matiltan waterfall/mighty 22 waterfall is also popular as Ushu waterfall. A huge stream moves over the Ushu road with a heavy flow, which is generated due to the water of Matiltan waterfall. Visitors have to cross the Ushu road with stream water to reach their destinations. They really enjoy the pleasant sound of streams moving over the road. Mahodand lake is approachable in summers as Ushu glacier blocks the only path to Mahodand lake. So the tourists can visit the place in summers when the ice melts. After Matiltan or Ushu waterfall the next famous and popular attraction is Mahodand Lake. Mahodand lake is popular not only for the landscapes but also for fishing. Tourists especially went there for fishing and camping. Water at Mahodand Lake is divided in to small and big streams of water. The Mahodand lake is fed by melting glaciers and springs of the Hindu Kush mountain. The beauty of Swat valley do not ends at Mahodand Lake and Ushu waterfall, this beauty spread across the Swat. One have to visit this place at least once in life to witness the beauty of Pakistan.
