This course is designed for students with no prior programming experience. It introduces theprinciples of programming in general and fundamental concepts of procedural programming inparticular, using C++. It will expose students to software development process and process models,algorithm development and some key fundamental programming constructs such as Syntax andsemantics of a higher-level language; variables, data types, expressions, and assignment; simpleI/O; conditional and iterative control structures; functions and parameter passing. Modularprogramming and structured programming will also be considered. Students will be guided to writeprograms to solve simple problems during which Problem-solving strategies; the role of algorithms.
