The best bookstore in town. They let you sit and read for as long as you want. Clean and quiet environment. There's a small coffee shop inside with seating for about 14 people. A diverse collection of books from all over the world. Plus they also help you get the books not available in Pakistan.

Review

Readings is my favorite bookstore in Lahore. Earlier it used to stock mostly used books but it has increasingly increased it's proportion of new books and bestsellers in fiction as well s nonfiction. If you are willing to stoop low (literally) then you can still find used, and therefore relatively inexpensive, books in the bottom shelf. More recently they have started to publish Urdu books and now they carry a whole range of Urdu books including poetry, short stories, novels, literacy journals etc. The Urdu Section leave much to be desired, but with time it is expected to grow in both quantity and quality. They also have chairs and cushions to sit and peruse books even if you don't want to buy them. There is a small cafe where some writers get together from time to time, but since Pak Tea House has been renovated, the cafe population has thinned out a bit. The good things is that you can take book into the cafe and read at your leisure. A great place to hang out or the whole family.

One of the best bookstores in town. A wide variety of books on English literature, translations, history, politics, philosophy, current affairs, lifestyle, art and best selling latest titles are available. The ambiance is great. Bookstore is carpeted and cozy. You can sit for as long as you like and enjoy reading. There's also a small cafe inside the bookstore. There's good space for Parking as well. The staff is courteous and very professional. They also offer home delivery of books.

This is my go to place...love it, the old rustic feel of the store, the worn out matting and wide aisles to go through shelves and shelves of books. The fact that you can sit and just skim through a book without being bugged, the hushed environment has a homely, library sort of feeling. Amazing collection for the little ones. My 11 month old baby also enjoys there.

I have been going to Readings since its inception, since I love books. Usually, I not only buy secondhand books, but the latest publications... There is a coffee shop adjacent to it which adds to the attraction. Stools for sitting and browsing are a God send and small pull carts are available to ferry books from the aisles to the check point.. I recommend it all book lovers.
