Federal Board Of Revenue collects revenue through the Regional Tax Offices. One of the Regional Tax Office is Regional Tax Office, Abbotabad known as RTO, Abbotabad situated near the church and infront of Contentment Park named as Lady Garden, Abbotabad..RTO Abbotabad is responsible for collecting Income Tax and Sales Tax from District Haripur, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Battagramm, Upper Kohistan and Lower Kohistan. RTO Abbotabad has it's facilitation centres at Haripur and Mansehra. RTO Abbotabad and Tax Facilitation Centres at Mansehra and Haripur deal with Withholding taxes, advance taxes, admitted taxes, sales taxes, these unit also work of enforcement and audit. RTO Abbotabad gives the facility of free NTN (National Tax Number) generation to general public and at some extent gives the free income tax return filling facility to taxpayer but with heavy heart free NTN and Income Tax Return facilities are not in Tax Facilitation Centers of Mansehra and Haripur. Moreover, different sub unit are working in TFC, Mansehra and Haripur. One of them is BTB unit called as Broding of Tax Base Unit. This unit work for increasing the tax base, issue notice to those individuals, AOP ( Association Of Person ) who do not have NTN ( National Tax Number) due to this unit this year as 2018 numbers of filers reached to 1.9 million which is more than previous years.
