Minerva club is the only Gentleman club in Faisalabad. This is located in the center of the city and strictly for members only. The club is adjacent to Serena hotel, the only five star hotel of the city. The club was built in 1906 and was meant for Indian elite. English beaurocrats preferred to join Chenab club. After partition of India, Muslim lawyers took control of the management. Now the club has lush green tennis lawns, a swimming pool, a modest gym and a card room. Anyone can do swimming after paying the charges, but rest of the facilities are for members only. Two big lawns are used/rented out for marriage ceremonies, which is the main source of income of the club. The club is managed by executive body which is elected by members. For last two decades, a renowned veteran politician, Zahid Sarfraz holds the position of President.
