An institution of great history, fame and reputation. It was built as a college by the British Govt. It was upgraded to university in recent years. Infrastructure is elegant. Its graduates dominate in the provincial and federal civil services. Old, high roof class rooms, halls give a different feeling. It offers a good variety of specializations including, art, languages, history, science, business management. Walking tracks are great. Nice old shady trees give amazing look.

pakistan's No 1 college the islamia college Founded by the personal initiatives led by Sir S.A. Qayyum and Sir George Roos-Keppel in 1913, it is one oif the oldest institutions of higher education in Pakistan, and its historical roots are traced from the culminating point of the Aligarh Movement.[2] The university provides higher learning in arts, languages, humanities, social sciences and modern sciences.[2] In 1950, the University of Peshawar was founded as an offshoot of Islamia College Peshawar, with the later being associated to the university as a constituent college.[2] Initially established as Islamia College, it was granted university status by the Government of Pakistan in 2008; the word college is retained in its title for preserving its historical roots.

Magnificent building…. The detailed architecture will blow your mind. It has a sense of belonging and knowledge in its design. You would have the feel of Government College University of Lahore when you visit it due to similarities of purpose of institutions. Surrounded by huge grounds and Grand Trunk Road, this building keeps on entertaining by passers even if they do not step in the territory. Staff is very humble and kind. Students are eager to learn and participate in sports.
