qualification the learner will be well equipped to start or progress their
career in the refrigeration & air-conditioning industry.
Air Conditioning & Refrigeration (HVAC&R) technology offered at various institutes of TEVTA, has been designed to teach students to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, computer application, Management & Communication and relevant technology fundamentals & advanced topics and practices.
In the 1st year, basic subjects comprising the fundamentals of technology accompanied by allied (i.e Workshop practice, Computer Application & Drawing) and related studies (Applied Maths., Physics & Chemistry etc.) are taught to strengthen the necessarily required basic concepts as well as Applied electricity, principles of refrigeration, related OHS&E.
2nd year involves the training in broader but medium complexity level from advanced Mathematics, while further raising awareness regarding business management, Thermodynamics & HVAC systems, CAD as well as advanced refrigeration.
In the final year, students will be taught how to analyze multifarious technology
processes in more practical way by carrying out Applied Electronics, air conditioning
systems, Water & Air distribution, Control & instrumentation, Industrial RAC machines,
Heat transfer and refrigeration calculation and Industrial Management & HRD, preparing
students for relevant HVAC&R job & employment market / industry.
This course aims to develop trainees the requisite knowledge, work ethic, safety awareness, and skillsets needed to efficiently work on HVAC job sites as an apprentice. Trainees will be able to install, test, and replace basic domestic HVAC electrical components. HVAC applications include but are not limited to fixtures and appliance installation, maintaining,
and repairing different types of HVAC parts and air ducts.
Upon completion of the course students should be able to:

Perform heating and air conditioning system inspection, maintenance, adjustment, and repair with limited supervision.
Perform engine cooling system maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs as related to heating and air conditioning with limited supervision.
Communicate professionally with employers, customers, and co-workers using industry standard language and following industry standard protocols.
Access and utilize repair information in a rapidly changing technology.
Develop and implement strategies and processes to solve heating and air conditioning repair problems.
Perform heating and air conditioning repair to professional and ethical standards.

By the end of the course participants will be able to:
1.Perform brazing and /or silver soldering
2.Prepare for oxyacetylene /metal arc welding processes
3.Prepare for pipes and tubing installation
4.Use graphical techniques and perform simple statistical computations
5.Carry out routine servicing of coils, filters, and air conditioner air distribution systems
6.Interpret standard specifications and manuals
7.ccurately calculate and size HVAC systems to satisfy space demand.
8.dentify and troubleshoot basic HVAC electrical components.
This certificate provides you with the skills to select components, install, set up, test, repair and maintain refrigeration systems, large-scale equipment for food storage and
preservation, and air-conditioning and air distribution equipment.
