Mostly known for its accommodation meant for employees, the location is well connected through public transport with Rawalpindi/ Islamabad. Prices are relatively comfortable as compared to posh sectors thus business activity continues till late night. Greenery is common to be associated with Islamabad but this location has beautiful large trees along side roads, flats making a pleasant scenic site for choosing as residence for low income employees.

G-9 sector is the most populous sector of Islamabad. Karachi Company got its name from a construction company of Karachi, Which built the apartment complex of G-9/2 for government employees in and around 1978. Karachi Company is famous for its whole sale market of groceries, auto workshops, cloth stores, fruit and vegetable kiosks, general bus stand for intra city and inter city travel, Photo Shops and many other facilities. Many banks are also located in this market.
