Syllabus coverage of the courses allows the students not only to attain the BS (Hons) degree but also to attempt ACCA (UK) papers, within the 4 years. At the end of this time period, a candidate may become a graduate and a professional qualification holder. ACCA offers exemption of first 9 papers to the graduates of UCP, BS (Hons) Accounting and Finance Programme. This is the first degree in Pakistan provided by the University of Central Punjab that has been awarded with exemption of 9 papers of ACCA (UK). Under ‘Accelerate’ programme ACCA exempts Registration Fee, First Annual Fee,and Exemption Fee of the 9 courses to the graduates of BS Accounting and Finance.
The BS (Accounting & Finance) is a highly specialised degree, preparing the graduate as having expertise in Accountancy and Finance. The students will acquire the knowledge and technical skills needed to analyze accounting/finance and business problems, and they will understand how best to communicate and use financial information to support business decisions. The degree offers specialization in Accounting and/or Finance.
By studying financial institutions, markets, and business finance, students will learn about the components of the financial system and how it impacts upon financial decisions in an organisation. Students will study the financial system, institutions, and financial instruments, which are involved with the transfer of funds between individuals, businesses and governments. This includes critical short-run decisions, such as cash management and credit policy, which affect the survival of the organisation. Long-term decisions include investment in plant and equipment, fundraising, and mergers and takeovers, all of which determine the wealth of the owners.
The BS Accounting and Finance is highly specialized program designed to prepare students to meet the challenges emerging in complex domain of financial reporting and management. The program is tailored to first impart a broad-based education in the fundamentals of business and management and then develop the quantitative and analytical skills necessary to become prudent, astute and ethical financial managers.
The course blends accounting and business finance theory to solve problems faced by managers on a daily basis. Your studies bring theory and practice together, applying both to situations where vital financial decisions have to be made.
