Chhatrasal Stadium is a nationwide famous stadium. It is known for its world class sports facilities. It has sports facilities for both indoor and outdoor games. Indoor facilities include Gym/ Fitness, Aerobics, Billiards/ Snooker, Table Tennis, Judo, Taekwondo, Chess and Carom. Outdoor facilities include Athletics, Football, Archery, Wrestling, and Yoga. Synthetic Athletic Track here is of 400 X 8 meter.
It had started gaining popularity in 1982 with Asian games. Athletics practice for Commonwealth Games 2010 was also done in Chhatrasal Stadium. All the athletes across the world had praised the stadium during Commonwealth Games 2010. it was renovated for games in 2010 and apporx. Rs. 70 crores were spent for this purpose. Now the stadium has world class facilities in it. It also has a physiotherapy center and a medical room. Two separate lounges are present for males and females. Cafeteria and security centre is also present there.
Training in Chhatrasal Stadium
Most of national and international wrestling players have taken training in Chhatrasal Stadium. Mahabali Satpal, Sushil Kumar, Yogesh Datt, Yashveer Dbaas, Thakur Devi Singh are some of the such names.
The stadium remains closed on Sundays and on national holidays (26 January, 15 August and 2 October). Members are informed in prior in case of any other special holiday.
