Reasonably good staff. National, international courier, parcels, money order, electronic money order, postal insurance, postal orders etc are available. The GPO stays open till 9 pm on Monday-Saturday. Sunday is off.

This is the main Post Office in Islamabad. It is alright and gets the job done. Nothing fancy and neither does it lack anything in terms of functionality. Uncomplicated and economical. What else do you want? The staff is of course, like any other government office, indifferent. So please don't expect a warm smile to welcome you there. They aren't paid enough. I, however, try my best to greet them well and improve their morale. They also have a railway booking counter now. They have tried to improve things here and there. It will take time. Overall, I'm quite happy with the place.
