I used to go to this library once...perhaps in 1998-2000. I remember paying Rs.500 to get the membership. The old grumpy librarian would then let me borrow books to the value of Rs.500 and would always mention it as a favour saying that the “replacement value” of those books was much more than Rs.500. Even in those days the librarian would not open the library on scheduled days and hours. The library was in a state of despair. This was the only public library in Multan at that time. I wonder whether I am still a member as I never cancelled my membership. Last time I visited this library in 2016. It was closed and looked like it wasn’t an operational library anymore. I asked a few people around and tried to glean some information but no one knew anything about its fate. Sad!

There is no peaceful place for student except library in the world. But,unfortunately I've experienced at this place. This place is absolutely peaceful for a shining and hard working students but some representatives wants to dismissed the second time duty of library due to lack of security and they asked students to left the library before closing time. Our government or higher authorities should have to take notice of this prevail in situation and forced the representive to allow the student at the library till reaching the exact wise. I realize that there is no shortage of books or other facilities but I request the higher authorities or government to take notice of the library incharge. Regards Muhammad Kashan
